Fiscal Fitness: Getting Your Money in Shape

image from mulberrymed.comHappy monday! Welcome to the cool side of the pillow...

I found this article today whose headline caught my eye about getting "fiscally fit!" The wordplay was clever so I read on and it feeds into exactly what I'm working on this month and have been talking about on the blog. One of my big goals for 2012 is to get my money cleaned up and start getting used to putting money into savings. This article says roughly 30% of Americans have no savings at all. I'm not QUITE in that group, but only barely and I want to make sure every month that passes I'm further and further away from it!

This article on kcua.coop lists a few steps to getting started on the path of fiscal fitness. I particularly like the points of breaking down your goals into a weekly or monthly plan and simply spending less than what you bring in. That seems so simple but in the age of credit it totally isn't, sometimes!

I will be meeting with Amanda later this week to talk about my own finances and the options that I have for a plan so stay tuned for even more hands-on information!

Keep rockin',

Jenn
