Emily's current situation:

Hi! I'm Emily Coppersmith, I'm 22 years old and a recent graduate of Concordia University. I graduated in May with my B.A. in Spanish and Communications - Journalism and Public Relations. I'm currently doing an editorial/social media internship at an ecumenical publishing company for the summer. After that, who knows? I'm just rolling with it all. :)

I'm a native of St. Louis, MO. I know you want to know - so I attended Lutheran High School South in Affton. I am loving summer and soaking up all the sun I can (when I'm not working)!

Emily's blog post:

Are you penniless, skint, broke in St. Louis this summer?

Well, good thing for you STL is a playground for those down to their last dollar. Here are three fun ideas to still have fun on the skinny:

  1. Head to the Muny - and sit in the free seats (in the last 9 rows of the theater). The Muny is a St. Louis pastime and the nation's oldest and largest outdoor theater. With about 1500 free seats available for every performance, enjoying a night of musical theater is an option for everyone. Next in this season's line-up is Titanic - The Musical, running July 5-11.
  2. Tour the Anheuser Busch Brewery - with free tours daily, learn about the complex process of brewing and bottling America's favorite beverage. For those of age, complimentary samples are available at the end of the tour.
  3. Head out to the Missouri Botanical Garden for the Whitaker Music Festival free concert series on Wednesday nights this summer. Admission is free after 5 p.m., so grab a picnic and some friends and enjoy quality jazz in a beautiful venue.

And of course, don't forget the Zoo, Science Center, Art Museum, Fair St. Louis, and tons of other things that this city has to offer!
